REGEIS Common Data Set

The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report. The combined goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers.

The REGEIS “Your University” and “Your Community College” are algorithmically-populated demonstration databases, created to: 1) provide for development of the REGEIS IPEDS/CDS application and 2) enable HE institutions to evaluate the application based on real life-like student data. Student profiles are illustrative; IDs/names are fictitious.

"Your University"

Give this a title.

“Your University” is profiled to resemble a public four-year institution, with a Fall 2014 enrollment of 16,427 students. In algorithmically generating student and related data, e.g., graduation rates, financial aid awards, high school GPAs, SAT scores, student/faculty ratio, etc, REGEIS reviewed published CDS data of James Madison University, George Mason University, Old Dominion University, the University of Mary Washington, and Virginia Commonwealth University.

“Your Community College” is profiled to resemble a public community college with a Fall 2014 enrollment of 15,365. In algorithmically generating student and related data, e.g., graduation rates, financial aid awards, high school GPAs, SAT scores, student/faculty ratio, etc, REGEIS reviewed published IPEDS enrollment data as well as IPEDS financial aid data for institutions in the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). REGEIS also reviewed published CDS data for Colin County Community College District, Colorado Mountain College, Houston Community College, and Oakland Community College.
